What we do

We host relaxed and informal suppers in our own home giving you the chance to taste modern British food with a historical twist. Our menus highlight seasonal local ingredients in delicious and beautifully presented dishes that are influenced by the evolution of British cooking.

What is a supper club?

A supper club is a new and different way of eating out. Instead of  booking a table at a restaurant you buy a ticket for a British Kitchen event. Our events are held in our own home giving you a chance to share a fantastic four-course meal with other diners in a relaxed and informal environment. To find out more click below.

Our chef

Jack is the chef behind British Kitchen. Always passionate about food and cooking he studied for a Cordon Bleu Diploma at the Tante Marie Culinary Academy, coming top in his class. He developed his interest in British food, its history and evolution whilst working at the Michelin starred St John Bar and Restaurant in Smithfield. Jack started the British Kitchen Supper Club as a way of sharing his interests more widely. He takes inspiration from his large collection of historic British cookbooks and the varied local ingredients around his home in East Sussex. A link to his journal of recipes and food writing is given below.

Where we are

The British Kitchen Supper Club is based in Flimwell in the High Weald, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Close to the historic town of Royal Tunbridge Wells and within a short drive of the coast the area is known for rolling hills, medieval farms and woods.

Our suppliers

We try to source our ingredients as locally and seasonally as possible and are proud to promote our suppliers and the provenance of our food.

We are constantly looking to work with new and interesting local suppliers. If you would be interested in working with us or know of any interesting and innovative local suppliers, please email at: info@britishkitchen.co.uk
